Peter Ross Retires After More Than 20 Years in the Civil Engineering Sector
We would like to wish Peter Ross a very happy retirement as he brings an outstanding career of more than 20 years in civil engineering to a close.
With experience spanning every aspect of civil engineering works, from water main installations and hydro dam repairs to housing infrastructure and new build substations, Peter has spent the past 16 years with Global Infrastructure. Prior to this, he worked closely with members of our management team at ROK, Mansfield and Tullochs.
During his time with Global Infrastructure, Peter has contributed to an extensive range of major projects, including the Beauly, Berryburn, Fasnakyle and Fort Augustus substations. He completes his time with us at the new Dounreay West Substation, our largest project to date, which provides a fitting final chapter to his career.
Mark Fleming, Global Infrastructure’s Construction Director, commented: “It was with great pleasure that I was able to present Peter with a small token of goodwill from everyone at Global Infrastructure to recognise his imminent and long overdue, (by his own choosing), retirement. After a lifetime in the industry Peter has finally decided to hang up his hard hat and concrete trowel to focus on himself, hopefully taking life a little slower and to enjoy time with his wife and extended family and the dog.”
Mark continued: “Peter has been a mainstay of the Global Infrastructure team since the very start. The huge number of projects he has been involved with is testament to the fact that all teams were keen to have Peter on their project. This was in part due to the vast experience, knowledge and general all-round skillset, which was of benefit on any site he was involved with, but also and probably more importantly due to Peters character. Always calm, never rushed or showing sign of stress and with an unassuming and selflessness he is the type of character that every project needs.”
Peter will be a huge miss at Global but rather than dwelling on the fact that his time with us has come to an end, we are thankful that he has been with us for so long and helped develop the company into what it is today. We wish Peter all the best for the future and hope he doesn’t miss the cold early mornings, concrete pours, drainage installs or kerb laying too much! If he does, the door is always open….
