Global Infrastructure Celebrates Success of UHI Inverness Civil Engineering Graduates
Posted on June 17, 2025
Congratulations to the NPA Civil Engineering students at UHI Inverness who recently graduated from the CECA Scotland Academy 18-week course. Aiden Moore, Charlie Kilday, Duncan Murdock, Ethan Ewen, Euan Greig, Michael Butler, and Theo Ross all received graduation certificates from David MacDonald, Global Infrastructure’s Managing Director and Vice Chair of CECA Scotland.

The graduation included a presentation from David, who spoke about the “unprecedented” billion-pound civil engineering projects planned across Scotland. He explained that, due to an ageing workforce, the industry is losing valuable skills and experience, and must invest in young people to bridge the gap and enable them to seize the opportunities ahead. Addressing the graduates, he said, “There is a positive future ahead; this is a fulfilling industry that leaves a legacy for the future, and I hope you will all be part of that.”
Following the ceremony, the seven students met with representatives from various civil engineering firms as part of a recruitment process that guarantees job interviews for all completing students. Representing Global Infrastructure, Jennifer Young (Business Support Supervisor), Richard Brittain (Site Manager) and Iain Maclean (Foreman) interviewed the students, resulting in two job offers being made and accepted.
We would also like to congratulate Duncan, who was awarded the college’s ‘Golden Shovel’ for being the hardest-working student.
